How to cut down on plastic?
Cutting down on plastic is not easy, but there are ways you can do it. Bringing a reusable bag is a good start for less plastic production. You can even find bags that can fold and they don't take up much space. And when you're shopping you should try looking for products that aren't wrapped in plastic, and this applies for both food and cosmetics. Bringing your own food to work or school is better than buying a takeaway everyday. It's cheaper and more eco-friendly. Also carrying a cup you can refill is a good idea. A lot of coffee shops even offer small discounts when you bring your own cup.
In my opinion this topic is really popular and important but still not many people care. Especially when it comes to fast fashion and buying groceries wrapped in plastic. I feel like fast fashion is really popular these days and a lot of famous people promote buying cheap, plastic clothing. I think it's not a bad thing to buy stuff from those shops, because sometimes you want to buy yourself something nice and new, but you shouldn't buy everything you want in them. Now buying from second hands is getting popular and it's also more eco-friendly and it’s not expensive as well. There even exist apps and websites, where you can buy nice second hand clothing. When it comes to groceries I feel like it’s way harder to find products without plastic wraps. For example when it comes to different types of pastas, I personally never saw them being sold without plastic packaging. When it comes to cosmetics I think it’s the hardest to find something without plastic packaging and if you do find something, you usually don’t have as many varieties of products as you would have with products in plastic containers. I try my best to not use much plastic but sometimes it’s impossible to cut it down on it.
