Skin scarring

When we damage the deeper layer of our skin, we mess up the production of collagen in it- skin produces more collagen to help with wound healing. The normal pattern of collagen is a basket wave pattern, but in the healing process it forms a cross-links pattern, which means it positions itself in only one direction causing a scar. But accept for our skin looking diffent in the scar area it also interferes with skin orginal functions like: producing sweat, reacting to temperature and hair growth. Scars can be caused by deep cuts, but also by some type of acne(for example people with cystic acne, which is a inflammatory type of acne, located in s deeper layer of skin, can expirience acne scarring). Scars can be more visible when we expose them to sunlight, without the proper sun protection.  I think I learned a bit more on the inside process of scarring, which in my opinion is more complex than you might think. Does stress cause pimples and acne?

Stress actually can cause pimples or acne. Usually when we stress ourselfs our body turns on the fight or flight mode on, but when we don't do any of this two options we hold the stress hormone-cortisol-inside of us. Cortisol increases inflamation in our body and suppress the immune system, which favors formation of acne-causeing bacteria and oil production in our skin. Cortisol is also involved in the production of sebum, which is needed in our skin, but if there is too much sebum it can clog our pores and make us break out. If your skin is oily stress can have a bigger impact on whether you get a pimple or not. So stress can cause pimples and acne, by producing sebum, increasing inflammation in our body and suppresing the immune system. I think this is really intresting and can help us understand the cause of our skin not looking healthy. In my opinion having a pimple can make us stress even more so we should learn how to stress a bit less. Here is the link to video I watched: h...
