Skin scarring

When we damage the deeper layer of our skin, we mess up the production of collagen in it- skin produces more collagen to help with wound healing. The normal pattern of collagen is a basket wave pattern, but in the healing process it forms a cross-links pattern, which means it positions itself in only one direction causing a scar. But accept for our skin looking diffent in the scar area it also interferes with skin orginal functions like: producing sweat, reacting to temperature and hair growth. Scars can be caused by deep cuts, but also by some type of acne(for example people with cystic acne, which is a inflammatory type of acne, located in s deeper layer of skin, can expirience acne scarring). Scars can be more visible when we expose them to sunlight, without the proper sun protection.

I think I learned a bit more on the inside process of scarring, which in my opinion is more complex than you might think.
