Is solarium good for our skin?

Solarium is not good for our skin, even if we hear that it’s a safer option for tanning our skin. When we expose our skin to natural UV rays it usually takes several hours for our skin to get tan, in a solarium it takes just a few hours or even minutes! Sunbeds- that's what the beds in a solarium are called- use UV rays to make your skin tan, but the UV rays are about 6 times stronger than the natural UV rays from the sun. UV rays are really cancerogenic by themself, but in a solarium they are a lot more dangerous with their stronger effect. Except for the higher possibility of getting cancer, there are a few less dangerous things that happen to our skin like faster signs of aging or pigmentation caused by UV rays. So the myth about solarium being a safer option for tan is a complete lie! And if you ever have used solarium you should go to the doctor to check your skin for any signs of cancer! Can you take care of your skin without any products?

There are ways to help your skin without products and if you take care of your skin with products as well, it will have a better outcome. You should try changing your pillowcase for a silk one, it will help with wrinkles, because silk is more of a slippery material, so your skin will "slip" on the pillow. If you don't want to buy a new pillow case, you should just try to change it regularly, when you sleep a lot of dead skin cells land on your pillow which can cause a pimple. Remember to drink water and exercise, even though it doesn't help your skin directly it helps your body, and a healthy body equals better skin condition. You should definitely try to stop touching your face and picking on it. Doing these two things can cause more pimples, scarring or hyperpigmentation. The next way to help your skin is to try taking lukewarm showers instead of hot ones. Hot water melts sebum( oily substance in our skin that moisturizes it), which can strip our skin off too much m...

Which chemical exfoliant is better AHA, BHA, PHA?

All chemical exfoliants are good, you just have to choose the right one for your skin concern. Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) works on the surface of the skin. They are good for dry, dehydrated skin. It helps with wrinkles, dehydration of the skin, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, dryness, dullness. So if you struggle with any of these concerns you should look for these acids on the ingredient list: glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid, and mandelic acid. AHA is a strong exfoliant so if your skin is sensitive it's better to use Polyhydroxy acids (PHA). They are really similar to AHA exfoliants, but are a bit more gentle. If you have dry, sensitive skin or eczema, or rosacea skin you should try PHA. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) work in our hair follicles and pores- so they go in the deeper layer of our skin. If your skin is oily, acne-prone you should try BHA. It helps with clogged pores, inflammation, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, and too much sebum produ...

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is actually the most important product for our skin. It protects your skin from sun, which produces two types of ultraviolet (UV) rays that damage our skin. The first  type of UV ray is called ultraviolet A (UVA), which causes fast aging of skin. The second one is called ultraviolet B (UVB) which causes sunburn. Our outer skin layer is composed  with pigment called melanin and too much sun exposure can make the pigment darken or shed. Sunscreen is crucial for skin protection and without it we can experience extremely bad results, for example we can experience things like: having wrinkles really young, popped blood vessels or even something more dangerous like skin cancer. We should look for a sunscreen that suits our skin especially when it comes to SPF( Sun Protection Factor), which every sunscreen contains. There are different levels of SPF- the most common are 15,30,50. The higher the level of SPF the longer it can protect your skin and the stronger the sun...
