Are animal rights respected in Poland?
I think people in Poland don't respect animals. We can hear and read a lot of situations about owners neglecting their pets, especially farm animals like horses and cows, becouse it's expensive to own one.But the fact that it's only loud about poor treatment of farm animals doesn't mean other animals aren't getting neglected, like for example home pets. I read an article which stated that every year more and more animals are unfortunatly living in an animal shelter, becouse their owner abandon them. I think a lot of Polish people don't know about the consequences of misstreating their pets, which is 3 to 5 years of prison, the length depends on the degree of cruelty. People probably think that they can neglect their pets without any consequences, so that is a reason for high factor of violation of animal rights.
