Does your mental state affect your skin?
Your mental state affects how your skin looks. Bad mental health can affect our skin long-term. For example: depression makes repairing inflammation in cells slower, which means your pimples will heal slower as well as marks after pimples. It can also give you acne or eczema and it can make your skin look dull. Social anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, body dysmorphia and many more disorders can make you stressed or sad which also affects your skin condition badly. Also stressing about not having “perfect” skin can make your mental health worse, which will affect your skin, so it can be a never ending process, which can be broken by for example getting medical help . On the other hand, falling in love can also make an impact on your skin. Oxytocin, also known as "the love hormone" can make your skin look glowy, speed up the healing of inflammation, make you break out less and it can boost collagen production. In conclusion your mental state can affect your skin in a bad or good way and if you struggle with your mental health you should go get professional help.
